WOODWORKING - CONTINUOUS WORKSHOPS - Schedule varies for each module.
 

Woodworking Beginners (325.000 LL / 6 x 3-hour sessions)

This workshop covers safety procedures, types of wood, preparing wood using a hand planer and a power planer, types of cuts, cutting wood using a miter saw, table saw and a circular saw, assembly techniques for right angle joints and how to finish your project.

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR BEGINNERS MODULE:
1- Types of wood for fine woodworking
2- Safety procedures
3- Preparing wood using a hand planer and a power planer
4- Cutting wood using a table saw
5- Techniques for assembly (tenon & mortise, dowel and pocket screw)
6- How to properly sand and finish your projects

Project: Side-table / Stool


 

Woodworking Intermediate (325.000 LL / 6 x 3-hour sessions)

Along with the acquired skills of the previous module, will cover cutting wood in different angles and preforming complex joints like dovetail, lap joints and dado cuts.

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR INTERMEDIATE MODULE:
1- Types of wood for complex joints
2- Safety procedures
3- Working with a saw for angled cuts
4- Working with the table saw for angled cuts
5- Techniques for glue-less assembly (using a wedge to hold a tenon)

Project: Dovetail box and Japanese bench



 

Woodworking Advanced (325.000 LL / 6 x 3-hour sessions)

Involves all of the techniques using a bandsaw for planking and for cutting curves.

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR ADVANCED MODULE:
1- Using the band saw
2- Safety procedures
3- Cutting planks on the band saw
4- Using the band saw as a miter
5- Cutting curves on the band saw
6-Working with templates on the band saw
