PRINTMAKING - CONTINUOUS WORKSHOPS - Scheduled upon your convenience
 

Relief (300.000 LL / month for 4 x 2-hours sessions)

We will cover every technique based on working with a lino or wood as a matrix. (Does not include lino mats, wood and printing paper).

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THIS MODULE:
1- Understanding the difference between relief, intaglio & planography.
2- Achieving the use of tonal value to produce volume.
3- Processes involved in printing from the lino mat and wood.
4- Understanding inks, matrices & supports.
5- History of printmaking & art as a multiple.
6- Safety procedures for using tools and chemichals.

 

Intaglio / Engraving (300.000 LL / month for 4 x 2-hours sessions)

We will cover every technique based on working with a copper matrix including drypoint, aqua-forte (etching), aquatint, engraving, mezzotint and toner relay. (Does not include copper plates and printing paper).

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THIS MODULE:
1- Understanding the difference between relief, intaglio & planography.
2- Working with different techniques for intaglio & engraving.
3- Achieving the use of tonal value to produce volume.
4- Processes involved in printing from the matrix.
5- Understanding inks, matrices & supports.
6- History of printmaking & art as a multiple.
5- Safety procedures for using tools and chemichals.

 

Lithography (400.000 LL / month for 4 x 2-hours sessions)

Based on the concept that water repels oil, a stone is used as a matrix to produce prints. (Does not include printing paper).

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THIS MODULE:
1- Understanding planography and the oil/water repulsion.
2- Materials and techniques for drawing on the stone.
3- Achieving the use of tonal value to produce volume.
4- Processes involved in printing from the stone.
5- Understanding inks, modifiers and gum layer.
6- Preparing the stone pre and post work.
5- Safety procedures for using tools and chemichals.

 

Silkscreen Printmaking (375.000 LL) - ONE DAY WORKSHOP (6 to 8 hours) - SUMMER ONLY

Learn everything there is to know about silkscreen from preparing the image, making the screen and printing on paper techniques. Does not include materials.

LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR THIS MODULE:
1- Understanding the principles of silkscreen printing.
2- Materials and techniques for creating the screen.
3- Preparing the file for printing a negative.
4- Processes involved preparing a screen (emulsion burning and developing).
5- Understanding inks, modifiers materials that can be printed on.
6- Safety procedures for using tools and chemichals.
